The 1st Special Olympic Meet was organized on 3rd October, 2011 by dedicating the event to the upcoming Royal Wedding. Her Majesty the Queen Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuck graced the occasion as the chief guest. There were more than 150 athletes who participated in the first meet. Participants included students Changangkha Middle Secondary School, Draktsho and Draktsho East Centre.
